xilinx - Xilinx M2 FPGA development tools.
hwdebug - Xilinx M2 Hardware debugger tool. Use to download to the demo board.
syslab - Cadence "System Design Solution" tools, version 97A.
icfb - Cadence IC4.4.3 IC design tools.
NOTE: when running the tools from the EE Workstation lab, you must issue the command [source /tools/cdsstart] in order to set your path to include the cds tools directories. This must be done each time you logon -- alternatively, you can put this command as the last line in your .cshrc file so that you don't have to re-issue it each time.

LATE BREAKING X-Windows NEWS: The EE Department has purchased an X-Win32 license which you can use from any PC that is in the College of Engineering subnet (130.203.xxx.xxx). If you have access to a PC on the "college wire", follow the installation instructions below. If you are dialing in, or network-attached outside the 130.203 subnet, then you can still use X-Win32 in the demo mode (which only allows a maximum 2-hour session before disconnecting you).
The install file is located in the EE Lab download directory http://labs.ee.psu.edu/download/
Download the x-win413.exe installation program and run it on your PC (note, read the x-win.txt file in order to get the necessary X-Win serial number).
Download the fon_cde.exe file, put it in the appropriate directory (c:\program files\StarNet\X-Win32\Lib\Fonts\cde) and install according the the instructions in the Fonts_readme.txt file.
Run the XUtil32 program -- create a new session, and select the following session options:
Now you're ready for remote X-Win32 access to the EE Lab Unix Workstations. The list below identifies those machines that are enabled to run the EE497i CAD tools. Before selecting a machine from the list, be sure to note the current number of users and CPU load (and pick the machine with the fewest users and lightest load). Note that the list which you see on the screen will dynamically change and update as machines are queried for users and loading.
The EE497i VHDL, FPGA, Cadence, etc. tools are shared from the CEDCC UNIX Server to the following EE Department SPARC workstations:
