This course teaches students fundamentals of electronic circuit board design, layout, and packaging by hands-on experience with networked UNIX workstations in the Center for Electronic Design. Actually learn how to design, layout and route a circuit of your choice with widely used PCAD  professional UNIX based design software. Understanding of the fundamentals of reliability engineering as they apply to electronic packaging, spacially solder joint reliability, and how it is affected by your design choices. Broad feeling for Design For Manufacture (DFM) and Design For Reliability (DFR) which will include a class visit to actual board manufacturing facilities.
