1997 IEEE Computer Society International Conference on Microelectronic
Systems Education

This conference is dedicated to furthering undergraduate and graduate education
in designing and building innovative microelectronic systems.
The meeting will focus on the following topics:
Needs and Expectations of Industry
Capabilities and Constraints of Academia
Mixing Educational Concepts and Technology-Dependent Issues
Infrastructure Support Provided by Industry and Government
Mentoring and Partnering Among Institutions
Using Complementary Research to Facilitate Education
Distributed Learning -- What Works and What Doesn't
Contributing and Sharing Educational Modules
Project-oriented Education
The first day of the conference will be devoted to invited presentations
and forums. The second day will consist of poster sessions for contributed
papers and computer demonstrations and exhibits by CAD software and textbook
vendors. The third day will feature tutorials that are included in the
registration fee.
The meeting will be held at the Crystal
Gateway Marriott, 1700 Jefferson Davis Highway, Arlington, VA 22202.
