Welcome to the EDSGN 497 E/F "Sensor and Controller System Integration" course website

Learn how to interface various sensors, actuators, subsystems, instruments and software programs to computers of different form factors (Check out the list of hardware/software here)

This course exploits the power of computer-based instrumentation and control systems to accelerate the idea evaluation and product development processes. This comprehensive course aims to foster entrepreneurship, invention and innovation by enabling students to metamorphose their ideas to proof-of-concept systems for high-tech and low-tech applications. The course shall promote lab automation and intrapreneurship to facilitate rapid migration of ideas from the concept to product stage and increase the quality and productivity of research centers and manufacturing units.

Successful Course Ventures:

The course is offered through the Continuing Education program at PSU - University Park. 8 of the 24 seats are reserved for local professionals. If there are any professional seats available before the beginning of the Fall 2008 semester, they will be allotted to resident students on the waiting list. Most engineering departments shall approve the course (after petitioning) as an elective of some sort. Please check with your department.
